Monday Night Programming: Worship
Worship is a broad category of those types of things we like to do to express devotion, commitment, or feelings towards specific concepts or dynamics or people. These behaviors can be discovered in any and all of the variety of connections the kink community creates. Worship can explore the spiritual side of connection or be intended to turn your partner on! During this class we will explore different kinds of worship and how they might enhance your relationships, each unique, not one better than the other. We will discuss different states of being that can occur during worship which includes:
Alpha state: This is when the brain emits slower electrical patterns, which are call “alpha” waves. In the alpha state we are less active and more receptive and open to our feelings. The alpha state is most likely to happen when we let ourselves live in the present moment rather than in the future or the past.
Beta state: This is when the brain emits faster electrical patterns, which are called “beta” waves. In this state we are able to rationalize, analyze, and think about the past and future. We are usually in a beta state when we are awake and in a busy, thinking state of mind.
Endorphins: Chemical compounds derived from a substance in the pituitary gland. They have pain-relieving properties and are responsible for sensations of pleasure. They are sometimes known as “happy chemicals”.
Mindfulness: A state of mind where you are fully aware of everything in the present moment. It heightens sensitivity and enables us to feel things more intensely. It also helps us to be more aware and observant and perform tasks more efficiently.
Some examples of the kinds of Worship activities we might explore:
• Boot worship
• Kneeling and Body language modification
• Affirmations
• Objectification
• Chastity, Orgasm Control, Orgasm Conditioning
• Speech Modification
• Dance worship
• Rituals
• Scrolls, agreements, contracts
• Marking for ownership
• Protocols

There will be a demo of dance worship during the class.While couples are welcome, these activities can be explored as an individual. Feel free to send any questions about our group to Samantha@arizonapowerexchange.org.

Bio: slave Samantha has been practicing protocols, rituals, dance worship, speech modification, affirmations, and kneeling since 2005 in her home privately. She joined APEX in 2012 and has been a volunteer for the past three years. She joined APEX’s Executive Committee in 2013.

APEX 101 Skills: Impact Play
The APEX 101 series is an introduction to specific skills. Come learn the basics of these skills. These classes are for beginners, those new to a particular kind of play, or someone wanting a ‘sampling’ of the possibilities and intended to make you comfortable with the general premise of “Impact Play”.
Impact play is always popular. There is a wealth of options and ideas, this class will help you explore what is available; learn about the tools, safety, and techniques you will need to participate. Paddles, floggers, spanking, crops, canes, singletails, dragontails, bullwhips, and so much more will be represented. Many stations for you to explore, and even a vendor or two so you can see what our local artists have to offer for your toy bag!
There is a New Member Orientation at 6:30PM so you can become a member in time to attend the APEX 101 Skills on Impact Play.

APEX E.D.G.E. Woo-U: Living with Intent

During this interactive discussion we will take a look at living life with more intention. We will look at some components of what makes this lifestyle, and authority exchange relationships what they are and why there might be such a draw to all of this. We will discuss what living a life of intention might look like through the “lifestyle lens,” incorporating all of the tools at our disposal. We have so many “tools” in this lifestyle that we can intentionally use to help us move towards a more peaceful place, once we understand more of the “why” we do all this. We will also take a look at what living a leather life of intention might look like.Please come spend some time exploring all this with Michael Anthony.
Bio: Michael Anthony, Masterslave is a sadomasochist leather person. After years identifying as slave, he now has incorporated his many years of learning to master self into his identification.Michael Anthony lives with and also serves the beautifully primal Rōnin. He loves to write and in that can be a bit of a muse. In his presentations he likes to focus on the “why” behind so much of what we do in this lifestyle with an overall goal of reducing suffering through mindful and obedient behavior.Currently he is the Registrar and on faculty for Butchmanns Experience Weekends, Volunteer Coordinator for Sin-In-The-City in Las Vegas and Assistant Director for the South West Leather Conference in Phoenix. Michael Anthony is an active member in the Phoenix Leather/Kink Community and spends much of his free time mentoring/mastering others across the country on their unique journeys.
This EDGE group has been formed to help capture the spirit and “rekindle” the fire of Woo that has been an integral component of the magic of the Southwest, and specifically, Arizona. Extended Development, Growth, & Education (E.D.G.E.). An E.D.G.E. group is made up of APEX members who all share a common interest in learning, teaching, and developing skills. This is a peer-to-peer learning environment that facilitates practice and sharing knowledge in a particular area.

APEX 101: The Dungeon
Dungeon 101 serves as an introduction into public BDSM play for those who have been members of Apex for less than 12 months. Attending a public BDSM play event can be a bit daunting, and this event is specifically designed to help you feel more “at home” in your space and the tools to feel more comfortable at play parties in a fun and casual atmosphere.
The evening will contain…
  • A talk about how play parties work, how to be a non-interfering spectator, the etiquette and logistics of our club and generally how to make yourself at home.
  • A tour of the facility. We’ll show you the play equipment, discuss safety concerns, and review some of the rules so that everyone can be comfortable and just enjoy themselves. The difference between this and your first orientation tour is that we are set up for a party!
  • Show and Tell. We have invited some APEX members who have great toy bags to attend with a selection of their favorite BDSM toys. Here is your opportunity to ask questions about where to procure toys, how they are used, and for what!
  • Then we play! The ‘open-playtime’ portion of our evening is for you – our new members! You are welcome to play, and we have also invited a few experienced players to model scenes for you to watch. These will not be “staged” or “demonstration” scenes, but examples of public play you might see at a Saturday Dungeon Party. The best part is that these individuals will be available after their scenes to answer any questions you may have. This is a great opportunity to talk with experienced players.

Important note to experienced APEX members about this special event: 1) Unless you have been expressly invited to participate as a presenter, we ask that you attend in an observational role only. 2) If you are a seasoned kinkster and will attend, we ask that you please show the same courtesy and respect for the evening’s presenters, as you would at any educational event. 3) These events are geared toward creating a comfortable environment for educational playtime for those new to the club. If you are an established kink community member, we ask that you plan to play at the Saturday parties. 4) If you are an established kinkster and are interested in presenting at a future Dungeon 101 (sharing your toybag, doing a scene, answering questions), please email Tess@arizonapowerexchange.org. Polyamory is having multiple loving relationships. Polyamory is allowing those you love to also have multiple loving relationships. Polyamory is conducting these relationships in an open, honest, ethical way.
For any and all interested in all aspects of Polyamory, join us as we learn more about polyamory, discuss topics relevant to polyamory, and meet other polyamorous people from O/our Community.
Special Interest Group (S.I.G.):A Special Interest Group is for members of the BDSM Community who share a common interest that come together to talk, share, and support one another. Keeping with the Arizona Power Exchange mission of support, APEX provides space to these discussion groups free of charge, and membership in the club is not required. APEX Early Dungeon Party
You spoke and we listened. A party that starts and ends earlier! We will open the space at 6pm and close at midnight.
A fantastic, fun and kinky dungeon party. Participate, voyer, visit with your friends, or make new ones. There is always something to do, and always people to see! Our Saturday night parties are the cornerstone of the APEX social environment.
Watch the APEX Group on FetLife for the buzz about weekly parties, who is bringing what, and what our friends are planning! Please bring a food item to share. A six-pack of soda would also be appreciated. Water and ice will be provided.

A BBQ / Social opportunity to round out a great weekend! A relaxed environment to socialize and share your weekend with your friends. Orientations and Tours will be available. APEX provides hot dogs and water. Bring a share food and if you want to bring something to throw on the grill we will happily cook it up for you!

APEX E.D.G.E. Worship: Ritualized Body Markings
Drum thumps mingle with the hypnotic flicker of flames, as chanting dancers surround the one to be branded.
Humming from the mechanical bird as the artist places the sharp beak to skin and the ink transfers a depiction important to the wearer.
Sacred ash is rubbed into the freshly blooded slashes as the rite of passage is performed; the razor sharp blade is honed again for the next set of memorable scars in the making.
The ‘Snap ‘’Pop’ as the electricity flows along the dental tool revealing a Jaguar in the tall grass that was hidden within the skin seen only by the skin engraver and the one who bears the skin.
Ritualized markings of the body come in many forms and mean many things; from tribal roots to memorials to lost friends and lovers. Brands, tattoos, scarification, cuttings and piercings to name a few, to alter the human body permanently or even temporarily is not something that one should take or enter into lightly. This prep will explore the whys and the how of body modifications and some ways one can make the experience even more meaningful through rituals.
